Craig Roberts, P.Eng, President and CEO, Director and Vice President of Corporate Development
Mr. Roberts is a mining engineer with over 30 years of operations, consulting, and investment banking experience. This includes work on feasibility studies for numerous mining projects worldwide, investment banking/due diligence roles in over 200 institutional mining equity financings, and significant experience advising management and boards on both friendly and hostile transactions.
Melvin Herdrick, Director
Mr. Herdrick is a professional geologist with over 35 years of experience in exploration in the United States and Mexico, including 9 years as Chief Geologist for Phelps Dodge in Mexico from 1994 to 2003, and 8 years as Vice President of Exploration for Pediment Gold Corp. until its takeover by Argonaut Gold Inc. in 2011. Mr. Herdrick has worked as a consultant to Ethos and has played a lead role in identifying and evaluating gold exploration opportunities for Ethos in Mexico, including the recently announced option to acquire the La Purisima property in Chihuahua.
Hendrik Van Alphen, Director
Mr. Van Alphen has been in the mining business for over 27 years, first as an exploration drilling contractor, then as President of Pacific Rim Mining Corp. Mr. Van Alphen laid the foundation for Pacific Rim which became a successful South American-based resource company. He was also instrumental in the Company’s entrance into South America. He has been a director of Cardero Resource Corp. (TSX) since 1999, was the Chief Executive Officer of the Company from May 14, 2001 to November 9, 2011 and President of the Company from April 10, 2000 to June 1, 2011. He is also currently President & CEO and a director of Wealth Minerals Ltd. (TSXV), and a director of Indico Resources Ltd. (TSXV).
Michael Murphy, Director
Mr. Murphy is a co-founder and director of Torex Gold Resources Inc. Mr. Murphy was responsible for identifying the Morelos Gold project in Guerrero Mexico as an acquisition opportunity, negotiating the purchase of Morelos from Teck in a very competitive environment, arranging a $240million+ financing to support this acquisition, and in recruiting the board and management. Morelos has now been brought into production at ~370,000 oz per year. He is also the President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Battery Metals Ltd., a company focused on acquiring and developing battery metals projects. Mr. Murphy previously spent 15 years working in institutional equities in London, with Merrill Lynch, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse, where he ran the Credit Suisse hedge fund coverage team. Mr. Murphy graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts, from Saint Mary’s University with a Master of Business Administration and from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a Master of Science in Finance and he is a certified director, ICD.
Scott Kelly, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary
Mr. Kelly has over 12 years of experience acting as an officer and director in the resource sector, having served as Chief Financial Officer for various public companies during this time. At present, Mr. Kelly also serves as Chief Financial Officer for Sonoro Metals Corp., Ely Gold and Minerals Inc., and Marlin Gold Mining Ltd.
John Robins, Advisor
Mr. Robins is a professional geologist with over 30 years’ experience in the mining industry. His career has focused on mineral exploration and project development. In 2008 he received the Spud Huestis award for having made “a significant contribution to enhance the mineral resources of British Columbia and the Yukon”. Mr. Robins is the cofounder of Hunter Exploration, Stornaway Diamond Corporation, Kivalliq Energy Corporation, North Country Gold Corp. and Kaminak Gold Corporation. Mr. Robins was also involved in the successful sale/merger of several pubic companies including Grayd Resources Corporation (Agnico Eagle), Troon Resources (Grenville Strategic Royalty), Arauco Minerals (Kinross), Creston Moly Corporation (Mercator) and Northair Silver (Kootenay Silver). Mr Robins is currently the Executive Chairman of Kaminak Gold Corporation and also a director of Kivalliq Energy Corporation, Northern Empire Resources Corp. and West Melville Minerals Inc.
Jo Price M.Sc., MBA, P.Geo, VP Exploration
Mrs Price has 20+ years experience as an exploration geologist and project manager. She has worked on multiple gold, poly-metallic, and graphite projects in the USA, Australia, and Canada. During her career, Jo has managed multi-million dollar exploration programs overseeing technical direction, budgets, and operations. She has extensive experience in field operations, drill programs, technical database administration, land management, community relations, and exploration permitting in multiple jurisdictions.
Dr. Quinton Hennigh, Technical Consultant
Dr. Quinton Hennigh has agreed to join Ethos as a technical advisor. Dr. Hennigh is an economic geologist with more than 25 years of exploration experience with major gold mining firms including Homestake Mining, Newcrest Mining and Newmont Mining, with much of that work focused on exploration for Carlin style deposits in Nevada. Quinton is Chairman and President of Novo Resources Corp., founder and Director of Irving Resources Inc. and Executive Chairman of Miramont Resources Corp. Dr. Hennigh obtained a Ph.D. in Geology/Geochemistry from the Colorado School of Mines.
Michelle Tanguay has over twenty-five years of experience working within the resource extraction industry. Her experiences cover a wide range of activities associated with the life-cycle of mining, from; Indigenous and stakeholder engagement; baseline data design and collection; management of large consulting teams; pre-feasibility and feasibility studies; overseeing and leading assessment and permitting processes in a number of jurisdictions in Canada; negotiation of agreements with Indigenous governments and organizations; environmental management during construction and operations; and, the development of Closure Plans.
Ms. Tanguay has represented Canada by coordinating a Study Mission to Canada for a delegation of Ministers and dignitaries from Ethiopia and teaching a short course on mine closure cost estimating and assurance in Tanzania. Within Canada, Ms. Tanguay has participated on committees to advance the mandates of the Ontario Mining Association, Women in Mining and the Association for Mineral Exploration.
Michelle has held management positions with Newmont, Argonaut Gold, and Ethos Gold. Michelle Tanguay’s career highlights include; negotiating agreements in a landscape of overlapping and conflicting stakeholder and rightsholder interests, moving environmental compliance and cultural obligation metrics from fifty to ninety percent in less than one year during mine construction, and submitting an application for a Class A water license that ultimately resulted in the longest term issued.
Formal recognition for Michelle’s efforts include; the Kitikmeot Inuit Association Environmental Stewardship Award, Kivalliq Inuit Association Inuit Hiring and Training Award and, the Economic Developers Council of Ontario Award for innovative program development
